Tooling around Los Angeles with a father, an older brother and a sister in the film industry Nick Friedberg formed a deep respect for creative people living on their own terms, beyond the glare of celebrity. It is also through film that Friedberg was introduced to fashion as a means of creative expression. He was drawn to the understated cool, the relaxed confidence and the irrevocable masculinity expressed in iconic American cinema and instinctively began to mentally catalogue in acute detail the wardrobes of his film heroes.
In 2005 Friedberg launched his namesake label and immediately captured the attention of top retailers, including Barneys and Fred Segal. NSF has steadily grown a highly respected cult following and is recognized for its understated clean aesthetic, masculine attitude and tailored craftsmanship.
Inspired by the women in his own life, Nick recently took on the challenge of translating his vision into a women’s collection. Launching in Fall 2010, the early reviews of the line have lauded the detailing, the sexy relaxed style and boyish charm – all of which being quintessentially NSF. With quiet determination the label continues to retool the concept of American style and remain inspired by the California experience. Above all, NSF seeks to provide discerning men and women well-made clothing with style and grace.
