To be of two minds is to hold conflicting opinions about something.
But there’s only one way to regard the blossoming Los Angeles brand Of Two Minds—and that’s with unmitigated pleasure. The two in the name referes to a breezy interplay of sartorial codes, fashion sensibilities and cultural disitnctions on display.
Gossamer-light fabrics are paired with nubby textures. Billowing silhouettes ar combined with tailored ones. Free-spirited bohemianism is fused with louche glamour. And, most notably, the relaxed glamour of Los Angeles is artfully blended with the urban sophistication of Paris. Malibu meets St. Germain de Pres.
Sunjoo Moon understands the nature of duality well. Moon’s career crystallized in Paris where she worked at several European fashion houses, and launched an eponymous label. Each of Moon’s collections for Of Two Minds features impeccable
Silhouettes, vintage-inspired prints, and singular embellishments. Such an intriguing mix of ideas ensures that much of the collection is adaptable. “Take the long snakeskin print silk dress, “says Moon. “It could be worn poolside in L.A, with leather sandals, or with heels for an art opening in NY”.
