birds of paradis is a california luxury brand inspired by an artful blend of summer stories and sun-faded romance, made for long summer days, and cool california nights.
after successfully co-launching the famed trovata brand in 2000, designer john whitledge introduced birds of paradis in 2012 as a line exclusively for women.
beginning in the knitwear category, birds has now grown into a comprehensive womenswear collection, designed and operated by a small team out of an old sail loft in newport beach.
tailored shirting, dresses, and knits in super soft cottons, linens and the like are handcrafted in timeless designs to last a generation of family traditions.
the goal is simple: to create classic clothing in amazing fabrics so we can keep doing what we love: surfing and traveling, spending time with family and friends, and photographing the world around us.
